Grok is one of the most popular AI chatbots. Deeply integrated with X aka Twitter, it is designed to perform a number of tasks. Having given this AI from X a try, I must say that it’s up to the mark in most aspects.
By default, X automatically uses your interactions and inputs to train and improve Grok AI. However, if you are concerned about the privacy of your personal information, you can choose to stop this default behavior. On this very note, follow along to learn how to stop Grok AI from using your data for training.
Stop Grok AI from Using Your Data for Training
When it comes to the privacy and security of personal information, having the desired control over your data matters the most. That’s the reason why I appreciate the fact that X has offered a native way to control whether or not Grok AI should use your data for enhancement.
Prevent Grok AI from Using Your Data for Training on iPhone or Android Device
- To get started, open the X app on your iPhone or Android device.
- After that, tap on your profile at the top left corner of the screen.
- Now, select Settings and Support.
- Next, choose the Settings and Privacy option.
- Next up, select Privacy and Safety.
- Next, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and choose Grok.
- Finally, turn off the switch next to “Allow your posts as well as your interactions, inputs, and results with Grok to be used for training and fine-tuning” and confirm.
And that’s about it! Going forward, X will no longer use your personal information and interactions to train Grok.
Stop Grok AI from Using Your Personal Data for Training on Web
- On your computer, launch a browser like Safari, Chrome Edge, or Firefox and head over to x.com.
- Now, ensure that you have signed in using your account and password.
- After that, click on the More option in the left sidebar.
- Choose Settings and Privacy.
- Hit Privacy and Safety.
- Scroll a bit and hit Grok.
- On the next screen, turn off the switch for “Allow your posts as well as your interactions” to be shared with Grok and get out of the settings.
While there is no doubt that Grok has the potential to take on the likes of Google Gemini and OpenAI ChatGPT, the lack of availability for free users has hampered its progress and exposure. Unless and until X Grok gets enough exposure, it may not be able to pose a strong threat to the AI titans. What do you think?
